Values Scoring Criteria
Three values - Nine categories - 500 Points
Our research focuses on three American values; integrity, caring and courage. Each value has three categories for a total of nine categories. A company must score at least 400 out of a possible 500 points to be included in our stock portfolios.

Fiscal Responsibility
This category represents 10% of the total points. How a company handles their fiscal responsibilities is a key indicator of their integrity. Promptly paying bills, avoidance of excessive borrowing, and diligently paying their taxes are but some of the important factors that make up this category.

Community Relations
This category represents 14% of the total points. Is the company involved in the community? Does it give back? Does it donate time, resources or money to different organizations?
COURAGE
This category represents 6% of the total points. The more dedicated you are to good values the better. Some companies are more intentional about teaching values which allows them to have a higher score in this category.
Values Commitment
Servant Leadership
This category represents 12% of the total points. Servant leadership is providing guidance AND help to those who are being led. Great leaders not only that they show the way, but they provide service to those being led. A great example was Jesus who told the disciples what to do but also provided the help they need by giving them the Holy Spirit.
Ministry
This category represents 6% of the total points. Remarkably, many companies have a ministry component to their business. It may include donations to ministries, sending employees on mission trips, or providing chaplains to serve their employees.
Points are awarded based on how we judge a company applies Judeo-Christian/American values in each of the three values. A company must score at least 400 points, out of a possible 500, to be designated an American Values Company. We have a questionnaire of over 300 questions to help with the scoring process.
